It's been a long and bumpy ride through the years. Despite all the negativity and how tough this journey was, I managed to pull through it all. And I wouldn't have been able to get to where I am today if it wasn't for those of you who stuck by me and showed endless support regardless of what my haters say. I'm truly blessed.

Comparing myself to international bloggers/influencers, I'm a pretty small fry, (I mean I don't even have the right to make such a comparison in the first place) but it still amazes me why people would wanna take a photo with me or even request for an autograph. I would gladly do so, but I just don't understand why. Hahaha, I don't feel like I'm worthy... You get what I mean?

This kinda explains why I'm usually very awkward around you guys. Not to mention, I still don't have a single clue how to respond when some of you meet me and tell me that you've been reading my blog since the day I first started, years back. Besides "Thank you" which might come off pretty effortless and insincere. :( Trust me, I'm just a nervous wreck sometimes.

Anyway, it makes me happy to see how small little things like these can easily put a smile on your faces, so I guess the reasons are negligible.

I was at JCube the other day and for the benefit of those of you who have no idea what or where JCube is, JCube is a leisure and entertainment mall, which is pretty known for its gigantic ice rink and first IMAX cinema in Singapore’s suburbs. The mall boasts a unique faceted façade inspired by an ice cube, reflecting natural light by day and sparkling by night. Hahaha what fanciful words to describe this mall. Basically, a mall located in the western side of Singapore.

I've only been there once my entire life and there wasn't anything much during my last visit. However, I was invited to the launch of J.Avenue about two weeks back, and that was when I had a whole new experience.

Just a little background on what J.Avenue is, it houses some 70 shops offering a diverse selection of chic and affordable merchandise in a hip street shopping environment. It's pretty much like a bigger version of SCAPE'S underground mall I'd say. Not only do they cater to Fashion lovers, but from what I recalled, expect to find K-pop related gadgets, and a lot more other things - Such as shops that provide customising services etc.

Here are some of the pictures taken at the the J.Avenue's Filp-booth the other weekend.

Can you spot yourself? :p

Thank you so much for coming down! Especially those of you who travelled out of your way just for this event. I really, sincerely, appreciate the effort. And I'm sorry the haters can be really mean, even to you at times.

I hope you guys had fun! And to those of you who missed this out, don't worry!

Here are some upcoming events that Jianhao and I would be attending at JCube which you can look forward to!

October – Halloween @ J.Avenue
December – J.Flea
February – J.Mahjong

In the meantime, do head over to javenue.sg and follow @javenuesg on Instagram for more exciting updates!

Once again, thank you and I love you!

P/s We didn't hire the securities, they were hired by the management for safety issues. Just saying.

Sunsilk Pop-up Salon
Sunday, February 23, 2014 | 9:46 PM | 2 comments

Spent my previous Saturday at the Sunsilk Pop-up salon held in Bugis+. Something I long anticipated for!

Honestly, I was getting cold feet before the event cos...
1) I'm really bad with crowds.
2) I love styling my own hair, and hardly face any difficulties doing so, but it's not the case when I've to do it for someone else.

It came to my surprise that everything actually went pretty smoothly after all.

It was an interesting experience and what I was most amazed with was how meticulous these hairstylists were with each person's hair. Despite the overwhelming crowd, they all remained composed.

Getting my hair styled before I went on to style the 5 winners' hair!

Just look at how terrible the condition of my hair is... Could've easily been worse if it wasn't for the Sunsilk leave-on conditioner I've been using diligently over the past 2 weeks.

Didn't want anything too fanciful, so I decided on a simple ponytail along with some volume and curls.

Even this little girl attended the event to get her hair done. How cute.

Was a rare opportunity which allowed me to learn many new things about our hair. To name one - You can conduct a simple test on your own to find out if your hair's damaged! Run your fingers through your hair, if you feel any tangles... Your hair's most likely spoilt!

I'm really grateful as well to be able to meet some of my loveliest followers or readers, and style some of their hair. Made me really insecure about my severely damaged hair though! Out of the 5 hairs I styled, 5 of the winners had really smooth and long hair. Life is so unfair.

Really enjoyed myself! If you're feeling experimental, and wish to get a nice hair makeover... You could still be able to enjoy a free hairstyling session from now till the end of March!

Locations and dates to mark on your calendar!
20th - 23rd Feb - Jcube
13th - 16th March - Somerset 313
20th – 23rd March - Toa Payoh Hub

Do share your pictures on Instagram and hashtag #Sunsilkgoodtimes if you happen to get your hair styled! I'd love to see them. Have a great week ahead!

Tame your hair
Friday, February 7, 2014 | 6:47 PM | 1 comments

Previously in one of my blog posts, I mentioned about my severe hair loss and suggested a method as to how you could solve that problem (here), and I thought I'd share a little tip with you guys on how to tame frizzy hair today!

As most of you would know through personal experience or the people around you, it's rather tough to avoid getting your hair damaged if you constantly dye, bleach and heat your hair. And in my case, I've done all three... Not just once, but an uncountable number of times. Well, you can roughly imagine how bad the condition of my hair is at the moment.

It saddens me a little whenever I look back on the past and recall how I used to have thick and healthy hair. Would totally use all possible adjectives in the vocabulary to describe how good it used to be, but god damn it, it's like a stack of hay now anyway.

Anyway, it kinda bothered me and took me forever before I decided to do something about it. Many would suggest to go for treatment, which indeed, is a good idea. However, I'm obviously not that industrious and was desperately searching for alternatives - Guess what? I've finally figured out how to get smooth-looking hair throughout the day in just one simple step!!! *Jumps for joy*

(Do read till the end for something really special!)

Quality time
Sunday, February 2, 2014 | 3:47 PM | 1 comments

How's Lunar New Year for all of you this year?

When I was a child, it was all about having fun - 3 Blind mice, Catching, Hide-N-Seek, Ice and Water... Hahaha, I'm not really sure what people of other generations do, but that was what I played at my time.

Then there came early teenage days, where you're just interested to know how much does each Red packet contain and kinda long to go home.

Now? Guess I'm probably at the stage where it's all about family bonding.

Personally, the past two days were really great mainly because I get to spend quality time with my family. As I grow older, the red packets don't seem to matter as much anymore. (Note it's not as much, not don't matter at all. Lmao) Instead, being able to reunite with your kin and spend a couple of hours just catching up, taking a stroll down memory lane and reminiscing on our early years... That's what I love most.

I think it's an ineluctable part of our lives; that at a certain point we'd fear to lose the people around us. In this case, our family members... Cos they are the only ones who would usually be there for us till the end of time. And yeah, I don't wanna have any regrets for not devoting my time to the right people.

Okok, this is too much, I sound like an old woman. Moving on.

I've like a huge family tree, on both my maternal and paternal side. So I had two full days of visiting... Like literally from 9am to 12am. Let's not even get started with the terrible weather that enervated the shit out of me, and above that, I was so sleep deprived :( So anyway, here are some pictures taken!
